We placed an online order for curbside pickup at the Washington Twp, MI store. We were given a time of 11:00-12:00. Based on all our other curbside experiences, we assumed this was a window of time. We arrived in a curbside spot and attempted to call the customer service number but couldn't get through. Then received a txt from shopper apologizing they were changing our time. I attempted to reply as we could not accept that time and were not waiting an hour. After half an hour, the guy next to us never received his order and we never saw one order brought out. We can't reach Meijer or the shopper. Not sure who has our credit card info but we left without order, drove another 20 minutes home and will never use this service again.

I ordered my items on 11/13 I go to pickup my items on 11/15. They without any notification decide to change the prices on me when I go to pickup my order. Then the shopper picked up a spoiled ham salad and put it the cart. They decided to up charge me on another item. The on two items different items replaced them with items and never told me that they replaced them and one of the items they gave me I can't ever drink it because the it is a flavor that I don't even like.
Then I call the store to try and get things corrected they tell me that I have to drive back the store which is 15 minutes there and back. I said you guys are the ones who made the mistake not me. Why should I have to waste my time. Then they state that I can call the 1-877 number for meijer.com to get refunds. I do that and they still tell me that they can't change the prices from when I originally ordered and state that this is company policy that they can't change the prices back from when I originally ordered. I said how do you explain the shopper picking up a clearly bad item and putting it in my cart. He didn't have an answer and said we will refund you. Then he stated on the up charge he stated well you decided to pick anything for replacement. I said yes but not something that is higher price or that is beyond sale price. Then they replaced the mio for something I don't even like and not even close to what I ordered. I don't like peaches nor would I ever choose peaches. He said well I will give you store credit. I said no, I said you need to refund me, initially he said that he would not do that since I still had the items. I promptly told him, I was not the one who made the mistake. The shoppers did, I shouldn't have to be the one to bear the responsibility. Then he said he would issue a refund. This whole entire process took me about 2 hours to get fixed and still felt really unhappy about it. The manager when I spoke to him seemed like he wanted to argue with me, then trying to make things right. Then, he didn't ask me if there was anything else he could do to make it right, he just hung up the phone. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience with pickup. I have shopped at Krogers, target, and Giant Eagle and have had way less hassles than I ever have at Meijer pickups. Giant Eagle immediately texts you and tells you they are out of and item and lets you choose on what you want to replace it when and they tell you the price right then and there, no surprises. I just don't get why Meijer can't get it right. I'm seriously considering never using Meijer pickup again and shopping less at Meijer. The bad thing is I have been a 20 year customer of Meijer and it just seems like service is getting worse and not better.

Better selection, but a few kinks

I go to Meijer on Coolidge in Royal Oak. I love Meijer's bigger selection although after their remodel it has been significantly reduced. It is usually the best place for one stop shopping. Usually their pricing is better than other grocers as well. I have purchased Meijer milk and recently over the last year or two it goes sour before the sell by date. This has happened 9 times out of the ten I buy it. I don't want to have to go to another grocer for reasonably priced milk and I don't want to waste my time in their long return lines. I don't like how they have special needs female employees collecting loads of heavy carts either. They are not built for that and could suffer injury. I feel they are taking advantage of challenged people and it reflects horribly on Meijer. I hate how I can't use their own app in the store for some reason, nor can I use my phone to check banking etc. Their website is not robust like Walmart, Target or Pennies. They absolutely have the best sales, but often there is no product available.

8 people in line with 1 customer…

8 people in line with 1 customer service person. I’ve been in line 15 minutes already and I was number 5. Still several people to go. But I see a couple of people just standing around watching the cashier lines. Why is no one helping customer service?

One stop shopping.

One stop shopping is no longer the case. Recently shopped for hardware for my lamp. Couldn't find it where lamps were or hardware or in the light bulb aisle. Two random employees had no further information re my search and directed me to another store. Customer service throughout the store basically non-existent. So disappointed. I left and bought nothing.

Quit treating every customer like they are a thief

The store is always clean and over priced. I use to buy pop on sale at the Richmond KY location. Everytime at cash register they treat you like you're going to steal a 24 pack of pop. If I was going to steal a 24 pack of pop I would not be going through the cash register. Angel at the Richmond location was very rude was pushing someone in my party out of her way that was helping unload the buggy so she could scan the pop. First of all where's personal space second of all give me a moment and let me get my stuff on the conveyor belt. And what happened to a greeting there was no greeting. There was no thank you have a great day. I had to address her and tell her thank you and have a great day very very rude and disrespectful.

I parked near the garden section being I have a disability (Multiple Sclerosis) and it was close to what I needed from the store. I had seen a person before me get checked out at the garden section and this employee said you have to go to the front of the store and check out. I am now in a great deal of pain and I am suffering from this event. Really unsure how this employee picks whom to check out and who not too. I didn't see any signs.... Maybe my skin color? I have no idea. I will forever boycott this store tho. May 27 2021 aprox 3 -4 pm.

THOMAS IS AN AMAZING MAN

I haven't had such an amazing time shopping at a store in my entire life. We decided to get a new flat screen and a tv stand for it and we wheeled it up front to the check out. A very polite man by the name of Thomas came and helped us along! He didn't just help wheel it out he stayed with us to make sure we got it in the vehicle and helped! 10/10 amazing service and great dude all around. If yer ever in lancaster ohio at meijers and see Thomas make sure to give this man a good pat on the back.

I like the place(s)

Meijer is now my go-to store for most everything. In terms of style, it is a notch below Target and a notch above Walmart. I use self-checkout and can usually get in, but a dozen items, and back out to my car in about 20 minutes using self-checkout.

Very poor customer care experience

I am posting this review primarily because of the negative experience with the new "Free Pick Up" service (minimum $50 order). I have used it several times now over the last few months, but what happened yesterday and today over the phone was so disappointing that I am going to do my grocery shopping at another store. I received items from another customer's order, did not receive a couple of items that I was being charged for, and when I finally got to talk to someone on the phone, I eventually got a digital code for a coupon, but they did not even let me explain more or ask questions - they just simply hung up on me! I have tolerated long waiting times while sitting in the designated pick up parking spots, at least I could do something else while waiting. But being treated so unprofessionally and clearly being communicated to that Meijer management does not care about what their customers (and probably not about their employees, either) think, made me change my mind. You could do so, so much better, Meijer's.

32 mile trip for nothing

Ordered online for a pickup and both the website and the online order showed the items I wanted were in stock. I made sure to click on the "no substitutions" box.
Later on I drove the 32 miles to the store only to find that EVERYTHING was a substitution and nothing i actually ordered was in the bag and was not in stock at any store even though the website showed "in stock" at all of the stores.
Do not waste your time with the pickup "service" as it is completely as useless as their website. I will never use this worthless pickup/online ordering malarky ever again and will tell everyone I can not to use it.

Damaged products, terrible customer service

Picked up my online order today. I don't know who bagged my groceries but they put heavy grapefruits on top of my buns and squashed them. The pastries were stale. Only when I got to the store was I informed 2 items were out of stock. This is a 40 minute drive 1 way for me. Called to complain only to find out the store manager is on vacation till next week. This took over 30 minutes on the phone between all the hold times and being transferred many times. Please don't waste your time, shop somewhere else! Read other reviews same problems

Aweful!!! Don’t waist your time!!!

Aweful!!!
Between the time it takes to order via the Meijer app.. and the time you’ll DEFINITELY wait to get your groceries brought to your car
You’re better off just sucking it up and doing the shopping your damn self.
This has happened to me not once, not twice, not three times... but I’ma dumb ass because I’ve let this happen FOUR FU(KING TIMES!!!!
just get your own groceries if your time is important to you...100% NOT worth ordering on line and picking up in person!!!!!!

Even though Meijer was more expensive, I started shopping there because my regular grocery store did not keep their shelves stocked. As long as I have to visit another store, I am simply going to start out at that other store. This has been the case lately, so you have lost a customer. Make that two customers, because the man behind us was upset too. We ran into him later at another grocery store. Goodbye.

The Meijer at 3700 Harvey in Muskegon, Michigan is the same way. They sent us coupons for a few out-of-stock items.
